How to play Nonogram
Nonograms are also called picture logic puzzles or griddlers. Each row and column has its own set of number clues. Fill the correct cells to reveal the picture.
- Each number gives the length of a continuous block of filled cells.
- Read multiple numbers in their given order. Leave at least one empty cell between two blocks.
- Mark empty cells with a cross. Use row and column clues together.
- Complete the hidden picture. Start with lines where you can identify certain cells.

The first two cells form a block of 2. A cross separates it from the block of 1. The clues alone do not always give a single placement; use the column clues as well.
Find your first certain cell
In a five-cell row, a block of 3 must cover the middle cell. Fill that cell and check its column. Continue with other certain deductions. The game's Explain a step tool describes a logical move.
320 puzzles from 5×5 to 25×25
The catalog contains 40 puzzles at 5×5, 67 at 10×10, 80 at 15×15, 108 at 20×20 and 25 at 25×25. Small grids are a useful starting point. Larger pictures provide longer logic challenges. Every current puzzle has a unique solution and has been checked by a logic solver without guessing.
Mode with lives
The game checks filled cells immediately. You have your current life plus 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 spare lives, depending on grid size. You can continue with no spare lives left. The next mistake ends the attempt: after 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 mistakes in total.
Mode without lives
Solve at your own pace without a mistake limit. This mode includes a pencil and a Check tool. Ongoing games and completion records are saved separately for each mode.
Computer and phone controls
Use the left mouse button to fill cells. Use the right button to mark empty cells. On a phone, select Fill or Cross and tap a cell. Completed rows and columns get automatic crosses. The toolbar also provides erase, Undo, Redo, pan, hints and zoom. Choose from 13 color themes.

Is Nonogram free with no sign-up?
Yes. All 320 puzzles are free. You do not need an account or an email address.
Can I play Nonogram offline?
Yes, after the first complete load over HTTPS, if your browser stores the offline files. Your first visit needs an internet connection. Offline access may stop working if you clear site data or your browser removes the stored files.
Where is my unfinished puzzle?
Progress is saved in the current browser and profile when storage is available. Reloading the page restores your grid. Create a backup in Settings. You can import the exported file on another device. Clearing browser data may remove local progress.
Do I need to guess?
The current catalog has been checked as solvable by logical steps without guessing. If you get stuck, use Explain a step. Cross-check the row and column clues before filling an uncertain cell.
